Several other procedures can be performed at a time and material basis if it is deemed necessary from the previous check that there is a problem with the furnace that cannot be diagnosed from the checks above. The purpose of a furnace inspection is to diagnose problems or possible problems with a furnace.

Furnace inspections should be done once a year. It does not matter when the inspection is done. Some people do them late winter, some people do them early fall, gas providers just recommend ONCE a year.
