Founded in a small barn, located in Mt. Prospect, Illinois, by brothers Ralph and Arthur Ibbotson in 1946, Ibbotson Heating & Air Conditioning Company consisted of one employee and a Chevy station wagon. Today, Ralph Ibbotson Jr. owns and operates Ibbotson with his partner Richard Okolita. The Ibbotson family is actively involved in the daily operations of the business. Ralph’s son, Gregory is the service advisor; son-in-law Brian is one of the NATE-certified service technicians, daughter Joanna is the accountant, and daughter-in-law Kimberly is the service administrative assistant. Richard’s wife, Jacqui, is in charge of the office administration.
